Wow another icon dead George Steinbrenner the principal owner of sports greatest franchise The New York Yankees died this week at the age of 80. Before Rick Ross the New York media gave him the title “The Boss” taking a strugling baseball team and returning them back to glory. Steinbrenner was no saint or Art Rooney but he was one tough S.O.B. and winning was his only cure when ever his heart cried after a Yankee lost. For 38 years he was the straw the stired the drink and made no aplogies about it. Growiing up in the New York Metro area I remember Steinbrenner demanding the best from the best and bringing the Yankee pride back to the Bronx. Donald Trump wanted to win like him and Jerry Jones tried to be like him but there is only one Boss R.I.P.

At a Phillies game, a 17 year old fan calls his dad from the stand and says: “Dad, can i run on the field?”, his dad says “i don’t think you should son”, then the kid says, “This would be a once in a lifetime experience!”

At that point, he hit the field running and is eventually tased to be subdued. The question is: Was the tasing justified or was it unnecessary?

Dahts Take: He had to be made an example of. With 6 officers on the field chasing him, and not being able to catch him, something had to be done. You can’t just have people feeling like at any time they can run onto the field and delay the game for as long as they deem necessary. I enjoyed it and agree it was handled correctly.

If you haven’t seen the tasing, check it out here:

It’s about that time again Ladies and Gentlemen. Time for Women to feel like they aren’t getting enough attention and time for men to constantly debate about “Who Is Better”. It’s time for Madden 2011.

By now you should have seen the Nike Tiger Woods Commercial (in the event you haven’t, check out previous post) Here’s the Daht Spoof:

In Tiger Woods’ first commercial with NIKE since the “Thanksgiving Day Massacre”, Tiger stands with a blank stare as he is scolded by an off camera voice; the voice is his lat Father Earl Woods. Many believe the attempts are to show Tiger as a human and to understand we all make mistakes. The question the commercial draws for many is: Is this a sincere side from Tiger or is this a PR failure? You be the judge:

Junior sensation Austin Rivers of Florida – the son of Boston Celtics Coach Doc Rivers – was listed as “committed” to the University of Florida. It appears he may’ve had a change of heart. Austin has entertained conversations to be a Blue Devil, made an unofficial visit to Durham, and more recently has been entertaining the thought of being a Tar Heel. So now the Rivalry ha heightened. The 2009 NCAA Champions vs The 2010 NCAA Champions – Duke vs Carolina – Let the arguing begin!!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Austin Rivers, here’s some footage:

Yes it’s that time of year again where according to the experts  where the 65 top college  basketball teams battle it out on the hardwood for the right to be crowned “National Champs”. Big schools, mid majors, and little schools battle it out to win and survive. You gotta to love it the stories of these cinderalla team beating up  the big shots and wearing that glass slipper for one more  game. College sports at it’s best office pools and crazy mascots that help make this tournament great. However it seems a little a vacant without those tradional major players not good enough to make it to the big dance this year  like Carolina ,UCLA,Arizonia, and UCONN. But like I stated earlier that is what makes this tournament great. Nonething is a given you must bring your A game day in and day out. So as this year tournament kicks off I remind you to pull for my bracket to win the office pool go Georgetown, go Pittsburg, go Kentucky and  go Nova and win it  all Hoyas . “Let The Madness Begin”

It’s no secret We, at the University of North Carolina, need a PG. This kid, Kendall Marshall (#6 player in the country) could be exactly what we need to get back on track to being what we are: The Class of the ACC. Check out this footage and see if you like our new addition!

Now, in that same vein, Jeff Teague (played at WF and now is an Atlanta Hawk) has a younger brother named Marquis. Top Point Guard in the 2011 class –this kid is PHENOMENAL and “inside sources” say he has been contacted by UNC. Check out this footage and see if you’d like THIS addition to UNC:
