Manny Pacquaio will show solidarity with Hip-Hop culture by having Miami emcee Rick Ross walk him to the ring for his May 7 showdown with Shane Mosley.

Ross confirmed the news yesterday via his Twitter account.

Both men became acquainted with each other after participating in Nike’s 2010 ”Boom” commercial campaign.

Last week, Pacquiao’s lifelong friend and assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez endorsed Ross’ Maybach Music brand via a Youtube video.

Ross has engaged in public feuds with both Floyd Mayweather, Pacquiao’s main rival, and Mayweather’s close friend 50 Cent over perceived slights in Ross’ “Mafia Music.”

50 has publicly supported Mayweather in several fights, most notably accompanying him to the ring for his record-breaking 2007 showdown with Oscar De La Hoya.

High-profile boxers have sought out rap figures to enhance their ring walks since the mid 90′s, including Naseem Hamed (Diddy), Roy Jones Jr (Method Man and Redman), Cory Spinks (Nelly) and Mike Tyson (Tupac Shakur).

May 7 will mark the first time Pacquiao has done a ring walk with a rapper.

At press time, neither Pacquiao nor Ross have disclosed what music will be used

Atlanta rapper Diamond recently discussed her new relationship with Soulja Boy, which has been the subject of gossip over the past week since photos of the pair snuggling hit the Internet.

Diamond was formerly engaged to Lil Scrappy, but all parties involved have confirmed their relationship is over.

In a new interview, Diamond told Dr.Jay’s that Soulja Boy’s intelligence and good manners were the two key things that made Soulja Boy attractive to her.

“We’ve been friends for awhile. He’s always been real sweet, real manner-able guy, he’s very, very smart, intelligent,” Diamond said. “I learn from him and that’s what I look for when I date a guy. I like to learn, teach me. Sometimes guys want to compete. And that was one of the key things that captured my attention about him.”

Diamond admitted that the pair anticipated some backlash over their new relationship.

“We talked about it, but we didn’t know it was going to be that big,” a shocked Diamond said.

Soulja Boy also confirmed the relationship with 107.9’s The Dirty Boyz on (April 27th)

“Hey man, you already know how that go,” Soulja Boy said. “What’s another man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Me and shorty rocking, straight like that.”

As for Lil Scrappy, he said that he and Diamond had been separated for awhile.

“I’m not mad. But when I see the picture, it’s like wow,” Lil Scrappy told The Dirty Boyz. “It really don’t do nothing to me. I’m into making money right now. At the end of the day, you can’t help when two people like each other, if they do. But, like y’all said, I been kicking it with her for a minute, but we both been openly dating.”

Akon on Stage in his Underwear for Usher OMG Tour

We are not quite sure why Akon dropped down to his bare undies with every crevice of his body greased up but it sure had us saying. —- WHHHHHYYYYY?!?

Exactly why was this necessary?!?! Is this what people have to do at shows now to keep the audience from walking out OR maybe Akon felt that this would be a better look than pulling under age girls on stage and dry humping them…

Whatever Works for You Akon!!!

According to a TOP music industry insider Lady Gaga and her label Interscope are launching a full scale ATTACK on the queen of pop. The insider explains, “Lady Gaga is happy with her status [as the number one worldwide artist] and she’s not looking to be number two.”

The insider claims that there has been a good amount of Bad Blood between the two ladies since an unspecified falling out the two had earlier this year. The insider adds, “Lady Gaga doesn’t see Beyonce as an artist – she doesn’t play instruments, she doesn’t write her songs, [in Lady Gaga's eyes] Beyonce’s just an empty shell.”

So Lady Gaga’s people are starting a CAMPAIGN . . . to expose Beyonce. The snitch added, “[Lady Gaga] would like fans to know that she’s a real musician and Beyonce is a dancer that has a nice voice.”

And yesterday the FIRST SHOT in the battle was FIRED. Lady Gaga’s record label INTERSCOPE paid for a Twitter ad. Whenever someone searched for the word “Beyonce” they were taken to Interscope’s ad. The ad told fans that Bey’s new song Girls was really a REMAKE of the Major Lazer song Pon The Floor. But here’s teh KICKER . . . Interscope doesn’t WORK or have ANY financial interest in Major Lazer’s product.

Tells the insider,”The only reason Interscope is advertising for a song that they DON’T OWN, is because they want to expose Beyonce.”

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that The Undertaker was backstage at Raw this for the show’s Draft special. ‘Taker was said to be there because he was traveling with his wife, Michelle McCool, but gave no indication that he is prepared to return to TV. Sources claimed that he was still hurting, and that right now WWE has no immediate plans for him.

As far as The Undertaker’s return is concerned, it is believe that when he does return it will be on the Raw brand as the Monday night show just lost a top baby face with Randy Orton being drafted to Smackdown.

As we exclusively reported this past Monday night, the decision as to what to do with The Undertaker has been discussed, but because he is considered more of a special attraction rather than a full-time performer, company officials are still unsure as to what they are going to do with him when he is ready to return.

At a book signing in Washington D.C. Prodigy speaks on an incident where he almost fought Jay-Z outside of Justin’s Restaurant.

During a book signing in Washington D.C. with author/professor Michael Eric Dyson, Prodigy of Mobb Deep revealed quite the shocker when he explained to the audience that he once almost gave Jay-Z a beat down outside of Justin’s Restaurant in New York City.

The incident happened several months after Jay-Z called out Prodigy at HOT97’s Summer Jam concert although according to Prodigy his issues with Jay-Z didn’t stem from Summer Jam.

“Sometime after that little statement I made about him, Jay-Z put out the song called ‘The Takeover’ and he did the Summer Jam,” Prodigy explained. “Had my picture up when I was a little kid at my grandmother’s dance school. I thought I was Michael Jackson. Aight, so cool. That was funny to me. I didn’t even take offense to that. That was just funny to me. My whole problem was a whole ‘nother thing.”

During the discussion Prodigy went on to explain that upon hearing that Jay-Z was at Justin’s Restaurant he and his crew of about 10 to 15 people waited for the rapper outside the restaurant.

“We surrounded the front door so he couldn’t get out without seeing us. So I’m standing there waiting to see him and finally he comes from back somewhere,” said Prodigy. “Him and Jermaine Dupri come walking. Jermaine sees us and he was out. Jay’s standing there with two bodyguards approaching us…He puts his hand out, like this, and comes walking up to me like this to shake my hand. So I’m looking at him like I could just really treat him like a rag dog right now like for real. So I shook his hand, ‘What’s up man?’ He was like ‘Yo listen, it ain’t no beef. It’s just music. Let’s keep it just music. There’s no problems son. I just wish you would have came and told me how you felt to my face instead of putting it in a magazine.’ And I’m like ‘Alright cool, there ain’t no beef. We can keep it just music.’ And I had thought about it real quick. Cause I’m thinking about how I could just really overpower him right now with the security and all that.”

Lil Scrappy talks about Soulja Boy and his one-time fiance Diamond’s newfound relationship.

After a number of pictures of Soulja Boy and Diamond getting intimate together began surfacing on the Internet, the two rappers revealed that they were actually dating. Now, Diamond’s former beau Lil Scrappy weighs in on the news.

Although Scrappy’s mom apparently feels differently, the former BME emcee explained to Hot 107.9’s Durrty Boyz that he bears no ill feelings towards either Soulja Boy or Diamond. He said that he and his one-time fiance have been separated for too long for him to really have an opinion.

“We ain’t been together so I can’t say nothing, you feel me,” he said. “We keep it closed in, you feel me? When people see that, they observe and see different things. I can’t help what people see…when I see the picture [of them together] it’s like, ‘OK, wow. OK, cool.’ It really don’t do nothing to me.”

Scrappy also added that his interests in life are too different for him to be upset about their newfound relationship. He even said that he feels people have no right to judge her over her personal life.

“I’m into making money right now and that’s what she was into doing and I guess [Soulja Boy] is into doing,” he said. “Everybody’s into making money but at the end of the day, you can’t help when two people like each other…I been kicking it with her for a minute but we’ve both been openly dating. I’m sure y’all are gonna see some pictures of some [of my girls]. You feel me? Shorty gotta get her money. However, shorty gotta get her money – and shorty is young. If she out with that dude, that dude and that dude, they can’t judge her.”

Man, they are calling P the new Superhead. LOL! But he dropped a bomb with this one about KeyKey Cole when she was a lil’ shortie.

“Damn, did I bag her back in the day? Then it hit me. Keyshia! From the Beverly Center mall! Oh shit. I bagged Keyshia Cole before she became famous. [Mobb Deep’s] Hav[oc] immediately ruined his opportunity to produce for her. Keyshia hung up on him. ‘You know her, son? She said she knows you,’ he said. ‘Yeah, I bagged her a couple of years ago in the Beverly Center. I didn’t realize it was Keyshia, it was before she blew up,’ I said. ‘Damn son, you just fucked that relationship up. You could’ve sold her some beats.’”

A lawyer for an NYPD sergeant accused of ordering a police escort for Sean “Diddy” Combs after his concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom last week, insists that there was a safety risk due to a large crowd gathered around the world famous rap mogul.

The NYPD has confirmed that Diddy received a police escort from officers with Midtown South precinct, who allegedly took the rap mogul one block, from 34th Street to nearby Dyer Ave, which leads to the Lincoln Tunnel.

“A sergeant has been identified as having directed an officer to provide an unauthorized escort, which was for a distance of one block,” a police spokesman confirmed.

Attorney Andrew Quinn told the New York Post that the sergeant was simply attempting to clear a growing crowd that was gathering around Combs, who was heading to an after party in West Orange, New Jersey.

“This wasn’t to benefit P. Diddy. It was to ameliorate a crowd situation,” attorney Andrew Quinn said of the growing brouhaha on the street.

According to the New York Post, NYPD officers are even more upset because the Midtown South precinct is the same precinct where Diddy was arrested in 1999.

The mogul was busted for allegedly shooting a gun inside of a club while out with former girlfriend and current American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez.

The head of a local NAACP branch in Terrebonne, Louisiana, has criticized the amount of police present at a Master P. concert last night (April 27th) in Houma, Louisiana.

Almost 40 police officers from Houma and Terrebonne’s Police Departments were out in full force in bulletproof vests at the City Club, where Master P., Mystikal, Romeo and others were performing.

The Narcotics Task Force and a SWAT team was parked nearby, in case the other 40 officers needed additional backup for strictly for the show, which drew about 100 people to the venue.

According to the police, they were there due to other spring break events taking place around the area, but local residents rejected the notion, because of the police’s concentration in front of the City Club.

“It had racial overtones,” Jerome Boykin, head of Terrebonne’s NAACP told The Houma Courier. “When you have white rock groups come to town you don’t have this much.”

Master P. and No Limit Records are slated to celebrate their 20th anniversary on May 1st at the House of Blues in Houston, Texas.

Chicago police are investigating a hairy heist. Nearly $90,000 worth of “top of the line” human hair was stolen from a beauty supply store Sunday morning.

Thieves apparently knew what they’re were targeting and made off with the hair from Beauty One.

“A huge steel door had been pried open, with two deadbolt locks on it,” one police sergeant said.

Whoever broke in also damaged the door’s frame and bricks on the building around the rear door. Beauty One owner Jay Han’s security cameras caught the men in the act, prying open the door and dragging out the merchandise.

This shouldn’t be a tough case to crack for the police. All the gotta do is hang out in the hood and look out for grown men approaching women talkin’ bout “I got that weave on deck!”

maya-angelou-and-common-thumb-572xauto-354729.jpg

Common and Maya Angelou were recently part of a joint interview and spoke on a number of topics including the first time they met and bridging the generational gap with Hip-Hop.

The two were reunited by GoWhere Hip-Hop during the first annual Common Ground Foundation gala that also featured ‘The View’ host Sherri Shepherd and actress Keke Palmer.

Speaking on her love for the rapper and philanthropist, Angelou tells GoWhere,

“I had heard of Common and I heard some of his music, his art. And I’m an admirer and I thought if I could talk to this young man and find out is that really who he is.”

She adds,

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently….What I’ve seen in Common is that he has courage all the time. He has courage to stand infront of young people and do it, he has enough courage to get on the big screen and do it. He’s not afraid to be gracious, that takes courage.”
